Sunlight‐Sensitive Plasmonic Nanostructured Composites as Photocatalytic Coating with Antibacterial Properties

چکیده

Infections caused by microorganisms are a global public health problem that continually demands new antimicrobial strategies. The generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) photocatalytic materials is an attractive approach to combat microbes. Along these lines, titanium dioxide (TiO2) constitutes outstanding light-driven ROS generator. However, the wide bandgap this semiconductor limits its use ultraviolet range spectral region. Herein, nanostructured composed TiO2 nanoparticles and plasmonic gold nanorods (AuNRs) presented for photoinactivation bacteria means sunlight irradiation, aiming extend action nanocomposite visible near-infrared ranges. It shown that, upon simulated different composites as coating films show photodegradation rhodamine B, production, inactivation protein function in bacterial biofilms, strong activity. This involving AuNRs/TiO2 may pave way fabrication light-responsive surfaces with

Anisotropy of Photocatalytic Properties in Nanostructured Photocatalysts

Energy band engineering and the nature of surface/interface of a semiconductor play a significant role in searching high efficiency photocatalysts. Actually, the active facets, morphology controlling, especially the exposed facets modulation of photocatalysts during preparation are very desirable. In order to achieve high photocatalytic performance, intrinsic mechanism of such anisotropic prope...

Photocatalytic properties of titania nanostructured films fabricated from Titania nanosheets.

We examined the photochemical properties of well-ordered multilayer films of titania nanosheets prepared on quartz-glass substrate using the layer-by-layer deposition method. The photocatalytic decomposition of gaseous 2-propanol and bleaching of Methylene Blue dye under UV light illumination were measured to evaluate the photocatalytic oxidation ability. Photoinduced hydrophilicity was also st...

Nanostructured plasmonic sensors.

Surface plasmons (SPs) are coherent oscillations of conduction electrons on a metal surface excited by electromagnetic radiation at a metal-dielectric interface. The growing field of research on such light-metal interactions is known as ‘plasmonics’.1-3 This branch of research has attracted much attention due to its potential applications in miniaturized optical devices, sensors, and photonic c...

Nanostructured plasmonic substrates for use as SERS sensors

Plasmonic nanostructures strongly localize electric fields on their surfaces via the collective oscillations of conducting electrons under stimulation by incident light at a certain wavelength. Molecules adsorbed onto the surfaces of plasmonic structures experience a strongly enhanced electric field due to the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), which amplifies the Raman scattering sign...

Antibacterial Au nanostructured surfaces.

We present here a technological platform for engineering Au nanotopographies by templated electrodeposition on antibacterial surfaces. Three different types of nanostructures were fabricated: nanopillars, nanorings and nanonuggets. The nanopillars are the basic structures and are 50 nm in diameter and 100 nm in height. Particular arrangement of the nanopillars in various geometries formed nanor...
